Baten Kaitos is the name of a star in the constellation Cetus, the Whale. We wanted to challenge the world of RPGs dominated by franchises with this new title. This game is the fruits of the collaboration among creators who came up with unique graphic images and those who pursued a brand new battle system. The game may appear to be a card game, but once you try it, you will realize that it is a battle system you can enjoy in a totally different way. It is an intuitive, easy to learn system, but at the same time, it offers depth that allows players to find new strategies as they proceed.

YES NO Jonric: For readers who aren't familiar with Baten Kaitos, how would you introduce it to them? How and why did the underlying idea come about, and to what does the name refer? Noguchi-san: You can see the quality of the graphics from the screenshots, so I'd like to emphasize the new battle system here. To this end, we had the good fortune to get hold of Shinji Noguchi, the Producer for publisher Namco. As always, we were keen to know more than these basics. The group's ensuing adventure involves an unconventional battle system based on more than 1,000 "Magnus" cards including blank ones that can capture the essences of certain items, then reproduce them to assist in combat, healing, solving puzzles and more.

He also meets a mysterious, unlikely companion named Xelha. The player controls a spirit whose role encompasses guiding and advising him as well as fighting at his side. Although this might seem a solitary form of existence, he is not actually alone. In fact, he's a wanderer and even something of a hooligan whose lifestyle depends on strength of arm and quickness of mind. Kalas is not your typical do-gooder hero. As unusual as this device may be, there is no way for him to expect it will take him on a journey of self-discovery, an epic quest through a planet in crisis to find the answer to its greatest mystery. However, Kalas has only one, requiring him to employ a unique metallic version called a winglet that was crafted for him by his grandfather. In Monolith Software's Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, which is slated to ship in North America next month for the GameCube platform, the people have adapted by developing wings to facilitate travel. For equally unknown reasons, the seas receded, leaving lands that now float in the sky. :lolĪnd for anybody who has done this game 100% before, I doubt they will play it with you, its really a pain in the ass.According to ancient legends, the beginnings of which no one even remembers, there was once a time when rolling waters covered much of the world's surface. I am never doing that damn pacman quest ever again. There is a lot of other shit in the game, but other people will help out more, I cant remember much off the top of my head. Cross off the cards you give to Guzman since the game itself doesnt keep track of what you gave. For getting all of the quest cards(Guzman quest), GET A LIST OF ALL THE CARDS IN A WORD/TEXT FILE! Seriously, you can probably easily find a list somewhere on the internet. Yes there ARE only one shot magnus and stuff like that. The pacman card will eat the fuck out of all of your hard earned magnus, but not the important quest cards that cant be removed from your inventory, so trap that son of a whore. Pro-tip, when you get the Pacman card, trap it in a corner by surrounding it by quest cards(that cant be removed from your items).

Oh god prepare to spend a lot of time getting those timed items.
